WALK THE LINE
NOVEMBER 2025
SOLO SHOW AT ANTONIO COLOMBO ARTE CONTEMPORANEA
My next solo exhibition opens on November 27! The show, “Walk the Line,” curated by Ivan Quaroni, will take place in the Magic Bus Project Room of Antonio Colombo Gallery in Milan.
Below is a short introductory text:
Walk the Line (a title borrowed from Johnny Cash’s famous song) brings together a group of recent works by Riccardo Nannini that explore the subtle tension between everyday life and threat, between apparent normality and latent violence.
In paintings such as The Button, Tiger Queen, Breakfast with Wolves, and Let’s Meet There, at the Old Gas Station, ordinary gestures and domestic situations turn into unstable scenarios, where a single detail is enough to crack the balance and let unease emerge.
To walk the line means to live on the edge — between irony and danger, between lightness and disillusion. Nannini’s figures inhabit this ambiguous space: suspended, focused, caught in the instant before something happens.
Through a clear yet vibrant painting style, marked by saturated colors, narrative precision, and subtle dissonances, the artist builds scenes that recall the calm before a tremor.
Walk the Line thus becomes a reflection on contemporary precariousness: on that constant tension running through ordinary life, where every balance is temporary and every beauty already holds the possibility of breaking.
